Cole Whitt Wins USAC National Midget Championship
At the banked half-mile Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Thanksgiving night Cole Whitt needed at least an 11th place finish to become the 2008 Champion. He started tenth and ran most of the race in 9th, 10th, or 11th place. At the end of the day Cole won the 2008 USAC national Midget Championship by one point. Congratulations to Cole Whitt and the Red Bull Racing Team.

Jamey Caudill Wins at Myrtle Beach
On the final lap at Myrtle Beach Speedway, the traditional season finale, there was an unexpected twist. Jerame Donley had spun and was blocking a large part of the backstretch, but the race was still under green. Caudill’s made a quick evasive move to emerge as the race leader and had a clear path to win the $10,000 prize. Congratulations to Jamey Caudill and his team!

Benson wins Truck title
A pair of calls in the pits earned Johnny Benson a seventh-place finish, which was exactly what he needed to secure the series championship. Benson won the championship by seven points over Ron Hornaday and is the only other driver to win titles in both the Craftsman Truck and Nationwide Series. Congratulations to Johnny Benson and the No. 23 Toyota Crew!

Jake Crum claims 2008 UARA Championship
It has been a head-turning season for young Jake Crum, who entered 2008 for is second year running in the UARA Stars. After his performance in the series finale Saturday night in Concord, NC, he finishes as many suspected he would: a champion again. After a series of mishaps on the Concord 1/2 mile track and unable to pit without losing valuable track position, Crum had no option but to stay out, risking a two lap penalty if the fender were to come loose. Fortunately, Crum’s luck held, and he finished in 9th place. Crum ends the race season with 1 pole, 2 wins, 10 top fives, and 12 top tens. It’s been a great ride this year”, said Jake. “We’re grateful to everyone that supported us. There were a lot of long hours put in, we had to overcome some real challenges, and everyone really worked together as a team. I’m so glad we were able to do this together. It’s awesome.”

Brett Moffitt-2008 ASALMS North Rookie of the Year
For all the ASA Late model Series racers it has been a remarkable year, but for Brett Moffitt it has been a great year. Moffitt has had 39 starts this year with 5 wins, 18 top 5’s, and 14 top10’s. Brett was able to clinch the Rookie of the Year spot on October 6th at the “Oktoberfest 100” and with a second place finish in the race, by the team’s calculations possibly 2nd in the overall ASA Late Model North Series points. Congratulations to Brett Moffitt and the 5K Motorsports team for an outstanding year. We look forward to watching Brett next year in the Camping World East Series. |
The King Finally Gets His Crown
Teddy Christopher is one of the most accomplished short-track racers in NASCAR. He actually bought his first race car from Randy LaJoie. Christopher filled the biggest gap in his resume on Sunday at Thompson International Speedway when took his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship in grand style. ”It’s more relief than anything,” Christopher said. “Everyone says you’ve won all this stuff in your career and you’ve never won the Tour championship.”
Congratulations to Ted Christopher and his team! With the Whelen Modified Tour finished The Joie of Seating had 7 out of the top 10 finishers in the points standings riding comfortable in our custom built aluminum seats.

Sellers Scores First Career NCWSE Win at Stafford
Peyton Sellers emerged from a wild finish with his first career NASCAR Camping World Series East victory at Stafford Motor Speedway. Sellers won a three car final lap battle with Ted Christopher and Brian Ickler for the victory in the CARQUEST Fall Final 150. Congratulations to Peyton Sellers and his team.

Frank Cozze Gets Biggest Win at Rite Aid 200
Frank Cozze has been coming to the New York State Fairgrounds oval for 40 years but this Sunday proved to be his happiest. Cozze captured his biggest DIRTcar Modified victory of his career in the Advanced Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Rite Aid 200. “I don’t even know what to say, I’m kind of choked up” remarked an emotional Cozze.
The Joie of Seating is proud of not only Frank Cozze who took first place but Matt Shepherd placed 3rd and Eddie Marshall place 7th. Three in the top ten, not a bad weekend for The Joie of Seating. Congratulations to all!!!

Niquette's First Main Event Win!
Kyle Niquette stated he had to drive hard the whole day to get his first main event win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. According to Kyle there were two heats, the first heat, he started on the inside row and in the second heat on the outside. When the 13 car main started there wasn’t much competition for him in the beginning. On the second to last lap a car got under him and he was able to race side by side for an entire lap. On the last lap Kyle drove super hard and it paid off. Congratulations to Kyle and his team!

Bodine Wins Big at Talladega
In a dramatic last-lap move through the tri-oval at Talladega Superspeedway, Todd Bodine win’s Saturday’s Mountain Dew 250 Truck Serices race. ”I knew if we could get ourselves positioned at the right spot at the end of the race, we’d have a chance,” said Bodine. Bodine ended up pushing Kyle Busch on the last lap, but stated he didn’t mean to knock him sideways. Congratulations to “The Onion” and everyone at Germaine Racing.

Kobyluck Wins Title! Makes History!
Matt Kobyluck won his first NASCAR championship at Dover International Speedway. Kobyluck, the 38 year old driver from Uncasville, Conn., clinched his title with his third-place finish in the Sunoco 150. Kobyluck also became the first Native American to win a NASCAR Camping World Series championship. He is a member of the Mohegan Tribal Nation. Congratulations to Matt & his team.

DJ Shaw Gets Second Win
Rookie DJ Shaw challenged PASS North newcomer Travis Kittleson for 80 laps before making his move for the lead on lap 120 of Saturday night’s DJ Equipment 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH). Shaw then held off Johnny Clark and Ben Rowe on a key lap 134 restart to secure his second PASS North win of the season in Julio and Rita Miglioli's Precision JLM. Congratulations DJ Shaw and his team.

Rocco Gets Fourth Win of Season
Keith Rocco of Wallingford, CT roared into victory lane for his fourth win of the 2008 season. Rocco took the lead early and went on the stretch out his lead during the caution-free main event for the Sunoco Modifieds at Thompson International Speeway, Thompson CT. Szegedy Earns First Win of 2008
Todd Szegedy finally broke through for his first win of the 2008 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season Sunday afternoon in the Sunoco Modified Mania 150 at Thompson International Speedway. Szegedy’s No. 2 Wisk-Snuggle Ford ran inside the top five for most of the afternoon.
He took his first lead of the race on Lap 132 and held off numerous charges by Ronnie Silk for his 13th career victory, and third at Thompson.

Harraka Sweeps To Title
Paulie Harraka finished the season at All American Speedway with an historic flourish. The 18-year-old drove the No. 16 Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse Toyota to wins in both ends of the twin 50-lap features Saturday night and rallied to capture the track’s Late Model division championship. “I’m really proud to bring it home for Bill McAnally Racing and Drive For Diversity,” Harraka said. Congratulaions to Paulie and his team.

Austin Dillon Gets Big Win
Making perhaps his last start on dirt before making his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut the following weekend, Austin Dillon made a fourth-to–first charge just after the midpoint. In the 75-lap fifth annual Pro Late Model Nationals at Wythe Raceway, Dillon would race for a $10,000 Fastrak Racing Series victory. Congratulations to Austin Dillon and his team.

Matt McCall makes Tri-County “HIS”
As the UARA Stars series pulled into Tri-County Speedway Friday night it was business as usual. Except everybody knew one thing in the back of their head, Matt McCall was going to be there, and he was going to be fast. As the racing action got under way, it was just that… action. As the race wore on it was clear, Matt McCall the 2005 UARA champion was on a mission. Congratulations to Matt and his team!

Shane Clanton gets victory with WoO at the Gap
Clanton made all the right moves at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee to capture the 60-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature. Clanton certainly picked the best night to win, the booty for his eighth career WoO victory was &11,150. Clanton who started second took over the lead on lap 19 and stuck it in there for the win. Congratulations to Shane and his team.

Moltz Wins @ Stafford
Dillon Moltz drove to victory in the 14th Annual New England Dodge Dealers Late Model 100 at Stafford Speedway, sweeping the two extra distance Late Model feature events of the 2008 season. Dillon had to hold off strong challenges from both Michael Bennett and Ryan Posocco over several late restarts to take the victory. Congratulations to Dillon and his team.

Ambrose Finally Gets First Win
Marcos Ambrose’s luck finally took a turn for the better Saturday during the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International. This was his 59th Nationwide Series start in the No. 59 Ford, it was definitely his day. The first career victory was redemption of sorts for Ambrose, whose dominant run last week was waylaid by a pit road speeding penalty.

Doug Coby Gets First Feature Win
On Friday, August 8 at Stafford Motor Speedway in the 18th Annual New England Dodge Dealers 150 Whelen Modified Tour event, Doug Coby nailed down his first win of the season in the 40-lap SK Modified feature event. Doug drove a dominating drive to capture the win. Congratulations to Doug Coby and his team.

Travis Benjamin gets first PASS win
Travis Benjamin’s fans knew it was only a matter of time before he earned a PASS victory. He’s been runner up twice and hasn’t finished outside the top ten all year. Congratulations to Travis Benjamin and his crew for their victory in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Atlantic CAT 250 at Scotia Speedworld in Halifax Nova Scotia.

Clanton Snaps Winless Streak
Shane Clanton finally broke his winless stretch of 42 races and celebrated his first WoO triumph at Boone County Raceway. “Finally!” Clanton exclaimed “We’ve been close so many times this year but just couldn’t get the job done, so it feels good to win again – real good”. Woody Pitkat wins at Stafford Motor Speedway
Woody Pitkat comes back from a flat tire which put him two laps down to score the $4,000 winner’s check Friday night, at the 5th Annual CARQUEST SK 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway. Woody gained his two laps back with the lucky dog awards.

Benson takes series lead with win in Kentucky
Johnny Benson picks up his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win of the season and takes over the series lead by a single point over Matt Crafton. After the race Benson stated “We ran good, but it wasn’t easy. It looked easy, but it wasn’t.”

Matt Kobyluck Wins in Nashville
Matt Kobyluck of Montville passed Trevor Bayne to drive away over the final four laps to win the Camping World East Series Strutmasters.com 150 Saturday night at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville. “Any win is spectacular,” said Kobyluck. “These races are so hard to win these days that anytime you get one is great.”

Brady Smith Wins Back to Back
Brady Smith has suddenly become the hottest driver on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. In one weekend he captured not only his first-ever victory on the tour but went on to capture his second. ”To win two World of Outlaws features is an accomplishment,” said Smith “But winning two in a row is just awesome. Doing this against the competition on this series, I couldn’t be more proud of our team.”

Ross Kenseth Gets His First Feature Win
15 Year old, Ross Kenseth gets his first BRP Big 8 Late Model Series win at Dells Raceway Park and becomes the second youngest winner in this series. Cautions came in bunches on this night, however Kenseth would get an outstanding restart and power around the # 27 in turns 1 and 2 to take the lead with 5 laps to remaining.

Hossfeld Wins at NH by .001 Seconds
Chuck Hossfeld made a move on the last lap to the inside of Teddy Christopher to win the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour New England 100 by about 4 inches, or .001 seconds. Hossfeld stated after his win “This feels extra special because it was so close, and our car wasn’t perfect in the beginning. We pitted, which is always difficult to give up that track position.” He added “This team is on top of their game, and it makes my job as a driver fun and much easier.” Congratulations to Chuck and his team.

Storms Takes Orange County Modified Main
Michael Storms otherwise known as “Kid Lighting” sparked the excitement and lived up to his nickname by hanging on for a narrow victory over his mentor, Brett Hearn, in the thrilling DIRTcar Modified 30-lap feature event. “This is awesome. I always wanted to beat him (Hearn) and now I finally did. But I can’t thank Brett enough for everything he’s done for me” stated Storm after his win. Congratulations to Michael Storms and his team.

Alexander Makes History in Waterford
Kirk Alexander has won his 25th-career True Value Modified race and also completed a personal goal. Kirk is the only competitor in the TVMRS to have won at every track where the series has competed in its four year history. Alexander stated after his win “I did not want to curse myself so I did not tell anybody. All the guys knew it. So now we have won at every race track we have ever been to.

Hearn Wins at Albany
Brett Hearn raced against some of the top names in northeast Modified racing at the three-eighths-mile Albany-Saratoga Speedway and defended his honor against outside invaders.
After winning Hearn stated “I have to give Bruce (Richards) a lot of credit for having this race. This is a great event for the racers and the fans and it was nice to have a big event at my home track.”

Glenski Wins at Bristol
With just eight laps to go, Horak’s #28 began to wiggle in the third turn with a flat right-front tire, Glenski who remained a distant second sped to the low side and took the lead and the victory in a borrowed car from former Bristol winner Corey LaJoie. “This is awesome,” said Glenski. “Corey moved up to Late Models, so he wasn’t racing this car this year, so I’ve really got to thank the guys at The Joie of Seating for helping me out a lot. They gave me everything I needed to win.”

Johnny Benson Wins in Milwaukee
Johnny took his third consecutive victory at The Milwaukee Mile. This win kept Benson in the lead for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship.

DJ Shaw Wins First PASS North Feature |
18 year old DJ Shaw, who graduated from high school the day before took full advantage of this racing opportunity. Shaw held a ten car length lead over Clark and Rowe before rain brought out the red flag and halted the race on lap 98. One hour later the feature was declared complete and DJ Shaw had his first PASS feature win. Congratulation to DJ Shaw and his crew! DJ rides in a Custom Late Model Seat by The Joie of Seating.

Tanner Swanson Wins The “Glen Niebel Classic”
Tanner Swanson made his first USAC National Sprint Car start memorable by winning the recent 100-lap 9th Annual “Glen Niebel Classic” at Anderson Speedway.
